Heidi Vial has been working as a social worker in between following her love for
travel and the sun for eight years. Spending most of her younger life
in Brisbane, she came to Melbourne 2010 to finish a post graduate degree.
It was initially through tightness in her knees and hips that she started yoga
in 2008. Heidi found that yoga is brilliant to practice no matter where you
are and so it sustained her during her wanderings. Since moving to Melbourne she has had the opportunity to practice and learn more, completing teacher
training in 2011 with Australian Yoga Academy. Through yoga she has had many
personal revolutions on and off the mat that goes beyond the physical practice
of asana. Treating yoga and life for that matter, as a joyful learning
experience never focused not on the outcome but the journey. She tries to
incorporate a sense of playfulness and openness in her teaching as her existence.
Heidi convinced that through yoga the world is a better place.

Kath Moir started her yoga life as a student of hatha yoga and esoteric studies; she then studied yoga at Gita International for 2 years and completed her yoga teacher training in 2001. Since then she has explored many disciplines of yoga including Iyengar, Ashtanga, Bikram, Satyananda, Powerflow and has found a comfortable and inspiring home at Happy Being. Kath also has a Bachelor of Education majoring in nutrition and continues to work in the health industry.
Kath believes that yoga is not just about what happens on your mat, it also incorporates the wish to saturate every cell, thought and action with the essence of yoga when we are away from out mat. This can be a difficult and challenging process and it is the reason we need to return to our mats regularly and join class to re-learn and remind ourselves about this amazing thing called yoga. |
Margaux Lovett is an inspired yoga practitioner, yoga teacher/lecturer and Occupational Therapist and has worked in the health industry for more than 7 years. She is a professional member of both the Yoga Teachers Association and the Occupational Therapy Association.
Margaux’s hatha yoga journey started 4 years ago in London where she made the decision to give yoga a go to balance out the fast paced city life and stressful job. Initially she noted the positive physical transformations to chronic ailments she had lived with for many years due to stress and poor posture. Starting with a traditional Sivananda teaching she completed courses in asana, meditation and yogic psychology. Once she returned to Australia after a detour to India to immerse herself in traditional yogic teachings she completed an advanced diploma of yoga at the Australian Yoga Academy and has continued her regular practice at the Ashtanga Yoga Centre of Melbourne. Margaux teaches a balanced class of flowing Vinyasa from traditional Ashtanga asana sequences as well as pranayama, meditation and savasana. Due to Margaux’s experience working in occupational health she also tailors classes to suit common occupational and lifestyle injuries and medical conditions. Margaux believes that everyone should be able to have access to the wisdom, knowledge and inner peace that is yoga. Margaux teaches from a western anatomical and physiological perspective with a weave of eastern esoteric philosophy. Margaux has 7 years experience of working with orthopaedic, neurological, psychiatric and chronic pain related conditions as an Occupational Therapist in the workplace, community and rehabilitation centres. |

Natja Wünsch: After many years of fitness training, aerobics, step, dance, Thai Bo and others a teacher at my gym convinced me to give Yoga a go. My very first class was a classical Ashtanga class. My understanding of Yoga was relaxing and stretching but this was something completely different. I started a regular practice immediately and after a while tried a general class and enjoyed that as well. The teacher included some fundamental knowledge of postures. I was fascinated.
After moving to Australia and settling in well I picked up my practice again and realised that teachers here seem to know a lot more and communicate that to the students. The other limbs of Yoga were even more fascinating and I wanted to share this and learn a lot more about Yoga. One of my teachers at that time encouraged my intention to start a Yoga teacher training. After enrolling my whole life changed and I’m a Yoga addict now. Exploring the different styles has influenced my practice and teaching. I belief Yoga is a life philosophy and science with many benefits to the body and mind. My studies will not end and teaching Yoga is such a pleasure that I really feel the urge to share that with my students. |
Rosemarie Espenberger: My fitness journey stared twenty years ago when I enrolled in a Taekwondo class. Little did I know that within the next ten years I would achieve my 2nd Dan Black Belt, compete State and Nationally and become an Instructor. Still searching for more, I undertook Certificate 111 in Fitness and became a Gym Instructor and then Certificate IV, Personal Trainer.
Inbetween all of that, Yoga came in and out of my life, but it wasn't until circumstances changed that brought me back to Yoga Practice and HappyBeing. I then decided to enrol in Teacher Training with the Australian Yoga Academy. Martial Arts taught me discipline, Personal Training taught me strength but Yoga practice combines all of that and inspires me to live with Purpose, Passion and Peace. I know that I will inspire you too. Namaste |
