"For many years I did yoga to help me physically become a better athlete, I tried different classes, teachers and repetitive yoga DVD’s but was never inspired. In 2007 I was introduced to Jannin Jacob from Happy Being and after my very first class I was captivated. Happy Being classes provide much more than an over commercialised fad that many studios have taken advantage of. At Happy Being you get the full yoga experience and at times I have felt like I’m in India or even a Buddhist temple in Thailand. |

Happy Being yoga is a soul-searching journey involving stretches, postures, movements, guidance, and adjustments along with breathing, relaxation, meditation and visualisation. The yoga that is taught provides me with the key values to achieve my best in my daily life. Every class makes me feel revitalised both physically and mentally; ready to overcome whatever daily obstacles are thrown my way. |
Participating in yoga at the Happy Being studio in Heathmont has helped me through different phases of my life. During my transition from elite world class athlete to retirement yoga prepared my mind to make the best decision at the right time. Throughout my entire pregnancy I continued to enjoy my Happy Being classes. I found that it helped alleviate my lower back pain, connected me closer to my baby and the yoga breathing decreased my anxiety and prepared me for labour. Post pregnancy yoga helped me strengthen my pelvic floor to bring balance back to my body. It also encouraged me to live for the moment and reduced the stress and expectation that came with being a new parent. Over the three years that I have practiced yoga at the Happy Being studio the teachers have helped me grow my knowledge and have showed me the real meaning of what Yoga has to offer. I have introduced both family and friends to a studio that I have come to love. Whether it’s my 64-year-old father in law looking for relaxation techniques, a young child looking to improve flexibility, teenagers needing tools to reduce stress, my pregnant sister in law wanting to keep fit or my husband wanting to overcome old sporting injuries, Happy Being yoga classes cater for all ages and every level. With today’s busy daily grind taking over our lives the importance of living a happy and healthy lifestyle has never been more important.
