YOGA FOR VCE
Today's students have more and more external stimuli coming at them from every direction. A regular practice of yoga & meditation, creates an awareness of what is happening inside as well as outside of oneself.
The introducing yoga at VCE level gives students and their teachers a chance to push reset. Get centred, and create space in their lives to improve health and wellbeing.
HappyBeing Yoga In Schools Initiative is offering a 4-week lunchtime express course to VCE students and teachers to create this space in the lead up to final exams.

Through the vehicle of yoga, students experience many benefits (as do all ages) which include:
• Practicing attentiveness which aids in developing and improving concentration.
• The promotion of clear thinking and the facilitation of learning.
• An increase in self-confidence and therefore contributes to developing and maintaining a positive self-image.
• Bringing balance between mind and body and so assists in making appropriate responses to emotional stimuli.
• Reduces health problems and vastly improves posture.
HappyBeing's Yoga in Schools initiative is available as an incursion to meet the needs of the school's curriculum framework, or as a term-based extra curricular activity for children.

Testimonials from the education sector
"In my role as a student wellbeing coordinator at one of Melbourne's largest secondary schools in the eastern suburbs, I am required to run various wellbeing concepts for staff and students. In a range of programs including year level stress less days, small groups introducing yoga techniques or targeted intervention for at risk students we have worked with Jannin Jacob from HappyBeing yoga with fantastic feedback over many years.
HappyBeing is a highly professional organisation that has demonstrated an insight into engaging reluctant learnings, working with challenging behaviours, extending vet dance class technical skills and promoting the positive outcomes of investing in wellbeing. A particular focus over the past couple of years has been in developing stress management skills for students in VCE. This has been supported by inviting students to participate in workshops facilitated by HappyBeing focusing on breathing techniques, life balance, mindfulness, focus points and yoga.
Jannin and her staff at HappyBeing bring amazing energy, exceptional expertise and importantly flexibility in designing program's to work in a school setting.
I highly recommend Jannin and HappyBeing yoga to all schools."

"As a student wellbeing coordinator I have employed Jannin Jacob from HappyBeing Yoga on several occasions.
Jannin has assisted our VCE students with an 8 week yoga course designed to reduce anxiety and increase mental agility. The sessions ran for one hour during lunchtime and were well attended. Our students gave excellent feedback when the program finished and all felt the yoga course had improved their academic focus.
Jannin also ran three yoga workshops for our Year 10 students as part of a Year 10 wellbeing day. These workshops were immensely popular and student feedback was so positive that our school is looking into using Jannin more regularly for all students and staff.
Jannin has immense knowledge and expertise that enables her to make advanced yoga practice extremely accessible to students - even those who have never done it before. Jannin is vibrant and energised and builds great rapport with staff and students alike.
I highly recommend Jannin and HappyBeing Yoga to all schools."
